Tea Lights and holders for your enjoyment. We have put together a variety of scented and unscented tealights from a host of well known and well respected candle manufactures, many from the United Kingdom.
Tealights are one of the most common and recognisable styled candles and probably one of the most used. Hundreds are burned every day in churches; for special occasions such as weddings and in the home. I am sure that every day these candles are burned in tart burners. They provide the heat source that allows the scented oils, granules or scented tarts to evaporate, heat up or melt with the desired effect of releasing a pleasing scent into the immediate environment.
While everyone is familiar with the everyday type of tea light it must be said that not all tealights are the same. The most common unscented tea lights burns normally up to 4 hours, however some of the cheaper variety while looking the same do not give the same burn length. It is really worth looking at the size of the tealight and not just the quantity in the package. Some of the cheaper variety of tea light may well go out before the scented tart or melt has fully melted and sometime by the time you have noticed the tart or melt may well have solidified again without releasing its scent! Another disappointing side effect of cheaper tea lights is the production of smoke.
Long burn tealights can be tea light that burns for 5 to 10 hours. When you purchase Long Burn Tealights and Prices Patent Candles Sentinel tealights is one example, remember that there is no magic mix in the wax. The tealights burn for longer because it is larger! While the diameter of the candle is normally the same, it is always worth checking the size before buying just encase it won’t fit your favourite tea light holder. Normally the long burn 8 hour tea lights are taller than their 4 hour cousins and will therefore fit most tealight holders. However, it is always worth checking especially if you are using short holders. While each tealight comes in its own metal casing we would advise that they are always burned in an appropriate holder for safety sake.
These long burn variety have the advatage of burning your melt or tart for longer. The disadvantage is that when they are used with scented oils etc., depending on the depth of your oil burner, you could completely evaporate the water oil mix before the candle extinguishes itself. Therefore, make sure you check your tart burner regularly, particularly before retiring for the night or before you leave the home. We would never advocate leaving a naked flame being in an unattended property or when you have retired to bed even if it’s in an appropriate container. We are aware that on occasions one may retire for the night expecting the candle to be on the verge of burning itself out but remember the long burn tea light such as Prices 8 hour Sentinel tea light may still have 4 hours to burn.
If you are looking for a good quality long burn tealight we can recommend Prices 8 hour sentinel available in packs of 25 or 50 and perfect for any special occasion and reasonably priced for everyday use.
